Historic Centre, Bubbles and Ski

Take advantage of our hotel in the city centre to discover the many activities that Grenoble and its surroundings have to offer. Walk to the historic centre, stroll through the shops and restaurants and visit the various museums. To get a taste of the greenery, head to the Jardin des Plantes or the Paul Mistral Park, just a few steps from the hotel. Then take the cable car up to the top and enjoy a panoramic view of the city from the Bastille. In summer, hike to the peaks of the Alps. In winter, hit the slopes of the nearby ski resorts.

The Bastille Fort

Les Bulles de Grenoble takes its nickname from the spherical cabins of the cable car that links the city centre to the Bastille. Reach the cable car in less than 20 minutes on foot from the Mercure Grenoble Centre Alpotel. Enjoy the breathtaking views during the ascent and from the Fort de la Bastille, a 19th century military fort with a watchtower and dungeon.

The Jardin des Plantes

The Natural History Museum of Grenoble is home to 20,000 m² of magnificent gardens. For a romantic stroll, a family outing or an outing with friends, stroll among the rare trees, botanical greenhouses, winter garden... Discover also a waterway and lawns to take a break. The museums

of the city of Grenoble

The city is home to several museums offering temporary and permanent exhibitions. Visit the Musée de Grenoble with its collections of contemporary art, modern art, fine arts and plastic arts, 15 minutes away by public transport or on foot, or the Musée archéologique Saint-Laurent, 30 minutes away on the other side of the Isère. Discover also the Domaine de Vizille Museum of the French Revolution located outside the city, 30 minutes away by car.

The Alps

Skiing and hiking resorts

Several ski resorts are easily accessible from our Mercure Grenoble Centre Alpotel. Your stay in Grenoble is also an opportunity to practice your favourite sports: hiking or mountain biking in summer, downhill or cross-country skiing in winter. Go to the Chamrousse resort, nestled in the middle of the forest, at the tip of the Belledonne massif. Chamrousse can be reached in less than an hour by car from our hotel.

The Golf Course

Grenoble is a privileged destination to practice your favourite sport! Around the city, no less than 3 golf courses open their greens to you. Discover the pretty 9-hole course in the wooded surroundings of the Bluegreen Seyssins golf course, or the Bluegreen Bresson course and its view of the Alps, or the superb 9-hole course at the Uriage golf course, created in 1921.

Escape Games

Share an unusual and friendly experience with your friends or colleagues during an escape game. Locked together in a room, the aim is to get out as quickly as possible by solving a series of riddles. Running

When you wake up in the morning or when you want to unwind at the end of the day, Grenoble is a great place to run. Take advantage of your run to discover this city surrounded by mountains and pass by the banks of the Isère and Drac rivers or the various parks in the vicinity, such as the Paul Mistral park or that of the Château de Vizille, with its 30 hectares of magnificent grounds.

Go down the Isère in a canoe or kayak, or try your hand at canyoning, rafting or hydrospeed. There are plenty of water spots around Grenoble! A sporty and exotic outing for all ages.

VIA FERRATA

To combine hiking and climbing, don't miss the via ferrata. Discover the mountains in a different way with impressive routes in the mountains. Ladders, cables, ramps... the cliffs are equipped to allow you to progress in complete safety. For the first time, the via ferrata of Saint-Christophe en Oisans offers a beautiful, friendly and accessible route above the torrent. For the more courageous, we recommend the via ferrata of Grand Bec, whose arrival perched at an altitude of 2080m will amaze you.

ROLLERBLADING ON THE TRACK OF THE OLD SPEED RING

In 1968, Grenoble hosted the Winter Olympics. The city has kept its speed ring, which is now a skating rink! Enjoy this sport in complete safety, less than 10 minutes' walk from our hotel.

SKATEWAY

It is impossible to discover winter sports without trying ice skating! Just 15 minutes by public transport from the Mercure Grenoble Alpotel hotel, young and old alike can enjoy the thrills of the Polesud ice rink. On the program, free skating and ice garden. The Polesud ice rink also offers special and secure sessions for people with reduced mobility.
